This privacy policy describes how the iOS app Pattern — Personal Pattern AI (developed by Mustafa Ergisi) handles your data.
Summary in one sentence
Pattern collects nothing. Everything stays on your iPhone. No account, no server, no analytics, no third parties.
What Pattern reads on your device
With your explicit permission (via standard iOS prompts), Pattern reads:
- HealthKit — sleep, heart-rate variability (HRV), heart rate, steps, resting heart rate, and workouts. Read-only. Pattern does not write to HealthKit.
- EventKit (Calendar) — calendar events from any account you have configured on your iPhone (iCloud, Google, Outlook, Exchange, etc.). Read-only.
- Reminders — open tasks, only if you grant access. Read-only.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition — only when you initiate a voice-capture flow. Audio is processed on-device by Apple's Speech framework and is not transmitted off the device.
How that data is used
The data above is processed entirely on your iPhone to produce daily insights, weekly patterns, and your Deep Work history. A language model runs on-device — either Apple's Foundation Models (on iOS 26) or an open-source model you choose to download. The model is what writes your daily brief and weekly pattern paragraphs. It runs locally; your data is never sent to any server.
What Pattern stores
Your reflections, brief drafts, and Deep Work sessions are saved as plain markdown files in your app's Documents folder (visible in the iOS Files app under "On My iPhone → Pattern → personal-agent"). These files never leave your device unless you choose to share or back them up via iCloud Backup.
What Pattern does not do
- No account creation, no login, no user identifier.
- No telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking.
- No advertising or third-party SDKs.
- No sync, no cloud, no servers operated by us.
- No data sale, no data sharing.
Third-party model downloads
If you choose to download an open-source language model (such as a GGUF file from HuggingFace), the download happens over a direct HTTPS connection between your iPhone and HuggingFace. We do not see or proxy that traffic. HuggingFace's own privacy policy applies to that connection.
Children
Pattern is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any personal information about children.
Your rights
Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. To delete the data Pattern has stored locally, uninstall the app from your iPhone (Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Pattern → Delete App), or delete the files manually from the Files app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page will reflect that. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
